Where children eat and sleep / Assignment #26

Click for more info! Boobly!
An ideal home in my created country is a family with 2 children (average of 1.5 kids per family). Each child will have a special talent whether it would be acting, singing, sports etc. My fictional family's food consumption would be about $220 per week. They buy all the necessary foods like bread, milk, eggs etc. and some snacks like pop, chips, pop tarts etc. I want my country to make a company for everything and I want there to be only one for each so there is no problems, and there is not a a lot going to waste. Ex. water I'm only going to open up one company called Uga Monga water productions. The company would be ran by the government so there is no fighting over territory and money.

I want my country to be a multicultural country so for a Chinese family they would eat food from their culture. But the national dish is Roti. Roti is a typical Caribbean dish filled with meat, different veggies, all rapped around Roti bread.

The boy's name is Ubbly Boobly, he is an only child in the Boobly household. His family is a upper class family, his father is a Physicist and his mother owns a very successful bakery. Ubbly didn't have much talent till  he realized he could sing. From that day on all he wanted to do was sing. He didn't care what he would sing but that's all he thought about. Weeks latter a middle-aged man heard him sing and gave him his card. That middle aged man just so happened to be a music producer.

Assignment #25: Walid's Childhood Top Ten

1. Book :We Share Everything !- By Robert Munsch
This book '' We share everything'' by Robert Munsch like all the other Robert Munsch books were a Treasure. I learned about his books in the third grade. The main thing that drew me in the Robert Munsch Genre were the wacky illustrations.

2. Book: Moira's Birthday- By Robert Munsch
I do not exactly remember the concept of this story but the thing is that when ever I see the cover of the  books I remember the exact story and what its about.

3. Book: Mortimer-By Robert Munsch
Mortimer was probably my favourite Robert Munsch Book. Like how Miss.Pollock loved the baby book I had an obsession with this book. I read it over and over and over again it seemed like the story never got old. I can still remember the thing Mortimer said  ''cling clang rattle bing bang ''

4. Book: More Pies !- By Robert Munch
More pies would have probably came second in my Robert Munsch obsession. I didn't even like the story the only reason that I read this story was because of the pie illustrations. When I was in the 3rd grade I had never eaten pie and the illustration just made me want to eat it every time I read ''More Pies''.

(For more books and info click HERE)

5. Game: Nintendo 64 (007)
Nintendo 64 was the PS3 back in the days. If I hadn't given away my N64  I would be still playing it now.The game 007 ( double O seven ) was the Call Of Duty back then. I just spent hours playing this game with my brother.

6. Game: Nintendo 64 (Super Smash bros.)
Super Smash Bros. The original Super Smash Bros. was the 2K11 of that time I spent lots of time playing this game. All the other Mario Brawls and other Mario games did not come close to the original.

7. Toy: Disney's Recess Figurine (Ashley Spinelli)
As a young child i loved the show Disney's recess. I had a figurine of  Ashley Spinelli(aka Spinelli) I have absolutely no idea how i got it but I had it. I ended up destroying it and throwing it out.

8. Walkmen
Walkmen were like mini Mp3s one opon a time. Everyone had them and the main place to get them was The Quickie.

9. My favourite yellow dragon shirt.
Most people have a favourite shirt. Mine was a yellow with a dragon going all over it. Every time I wore it I thought I was the coolest person ever.

10. Usher songs( I remember when I was very little Usher was THE MAN. He was very big for guys and girls.
Usher was my favourite music artist . He was at the beginning of his career when I started to listen to him he was huge then and he is still big now.
Cool Short Buzz Hairstyle for Black Men with Glasses Style from Usher
None of these things are special to me now because I have grown out of them. Perhaps there are kids somewhere that liked some of the things that I liked as a kid.

Faces of the World

Part A.) Globalization :To expand to other parts of the world.
                                                                                                                Photo of Globalization

Part 2) They pile lots of photos and take out the individual features and put together all together the features they have in common.(Using computer graphics)
The Colour of skin can change if two people of different races have a baby. The nose of a person can change for ex. if a Black African and a Caucasian get together. An African person has more of a flat nose and a Caucasian has more of a sharp narrow nose.

Part B.) In my opinion I think the ''Face of tommorow'' means the face of the next generation , or the identity of the next generation. No face is the same except if they are identical twins and even then you can tell the difference  in personality. Your face or skin colour can sometimes tell where a person originated from.
 EX
.  This man is from Africa.

This is Caucasian man originally from Europe.

This man is a Eastern Asian man

The pictures and descriptions can go on forever but this goes to show that faces and skin colour can play a part in knowing where a person is from.

This whole assignment surprised me I didn't know that this was even possible , or I wouldn't have guessed it.
When i heard an average face I thought that it was a woman or man that had a lot of the same features as other people I didn't know that they stack a bunch of faces together and get an average face.

Part C.) I combined 2 Asians, 2 Africans, 2 Indians, and 2 Caucasians.

Part D.) I chose these races because I believe that people from all over the world will eventually start to mix.(Globalization)
I chose The first three races (Asians, Africans, Indians) because they have the three biggest population in the world.
I did one guy and one girl for each race.(Total of 4 guys and 4 girls), to get a fair balance of both genders.

Part E.) People say that they think I'm and Arab or Eritrean because of my skin completion and my hair. As for my family they are thought to be a normal Somali family, except sometime they think we are Arabs because my brother grows facial hair faster than other teens, I did research and it was said that people from Asia grow hair faster than other people. Thats normal because my father was born and raised in an Arab country, and we have family members that are fully-Arab.

Literature Circles Reading Response A

Hello Everyone
This is a reading response for section A
The book is black and white

  • Copy down a quote from a character and explain why you think it's meaningful. What does it suggest about this character's personality? Personal qualities? Etc. Explain your thinking.

Steve: ''I guess your right. So, what do you think about the team''?
Tom from the little I've seen there really isn't much to say''
Steve:Go easy on them Tom.Its school basketball. Think about the guys on  the boys team. There really aren't more than five or six guys who can really play ball.''
Tom: Maybe not, but at least there are five or six'' , i said. That's not happening here.
  (Passage from page 6)

  • What were your feelings and first impressions after reading the opening chapters of this book? Explain

From reading this long passage I can tell that Tom is the type of person that has high expectations. Although he is a fanominal basketball player he believes that everyone else is either good or bad. He is probably saying this because he does not want to be there or that's just the way he is.

When I read the first couple of pages said to myself '' Oh my god what have gotten myself into, this book is so boring'' but after continued to read realized it was a really good book and it has a very important meaning to it.
